Mission Statement

Our mission is to improve the quality of Asphalt and expand its use.

Asphalt is the primary form of highway pavement in Florida covering an estimated 99% of Florida’s paved roadways. It is also approximately 95% of the States’ Highways riding surfaces in the United States [1]. Asphalt is clearly the pavement of choice by paving professionals around the country. It is a proven performer, can be customized to any paving application, and has the lowest life cycle cost.

The Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida, Inc. (ACAF, Inc.), was founded in 1957 to represent the Asphalt Industry in Florida. ACAF’s membership consists of Asphalt producers (Regular Members), Associate Members, and Affiliate Members that all work together to supply materials, equipment, and support for plant mixed Asphalt. The Association’s offices, located in Tallahassee, Florida, enable it to work closely with the State Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration as well as other industry associations.

ACAF is the voice of the Asphalt industry before the Florida Legislature and State government where it advocates the efficient spending of transportation revenue and quality construction that promotes motorist safety, relieves congestion, and improves traffic flow.

The Association provides its members with new and innovative information relating to asphalt and construction specifications. Along with technical assistance, trained staff provides quality construction training.

The ACAF headquarters is located in the Florida Transportation Center in Tallahassee, Florida. The Center is the focal point for Florida’s Transportation Industry and houses the Florida Transportation Builders Association.
