Webinar Description

This 1-hour webinar will provide an introduction to the new Asphalt Paving Handbook.

Under the Airfield Asphalt Pavement Technology Program, the updated Handbook was released on April 14, 2025 and can be downloaded here.

The Asphalt Institute wrote the manuscript and provided the illustrations, while Applied Research Associates handled layout and design.

This new Handbook provides comprehensive technical information and best practices related to the paving of asphalt mixtures for roadway and airfield projects. Prior editions focused on roadway paving; this 2025 Edition places greater emphasis on airfield paving, including practices unique to airfield work.

The first edition of this Handbook was published in 1991 by the Transportation Research Board. In 2000, the National Research Council appointed a committee of experts from agencies, producers, and contractors to update the Handbook. Since its inception, the Handbook has served as a respected reference across the asphalt paving industry to promote best practices.
