Mission Statement
Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida, Inc.
Our mission is to improve the quality of Asphalt and expand its use, and serve as the voice of the industry by advancing workforce development and promoting safety.
About ACAF
Asphalt is the pavement of choice across Florida, covering an estimated 99% of the state's paved roadways — and it's not just a Florida story. Nationally, asphalt makes up approximately 95% of the riding surface on America's highways.¹ It's a proven performer, adaptable to virtually any paving application, and it delivers the lowest life cycle cost of any pavement option — which is exactly why paving professionals across the country continue to choose it.
Who We Are
Founded in 1957, the Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida, Inc. (ACAF) has served as the voice of Florida's asphalt industry for nearly seven decades. Our membership brings together asphalt producers (Regular Members), Associate Members, and Affiliate Members — a network that spans the full supply chain of materials, equipment, and support behind every ton of plant-mixed asphalt placed on Florida's roads.
Headquartered in Tallahassee at the Florida Transportation Center — the hub of Florida's transportation industry, also home to the Florida Transportation Builders Association — ACAF works in close partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, and allied industry associations.
What We Do
ACAF represents the asphalt industry before state government, supporting efforts that promote motorist safety, relieve congestion, and improve traffic flow statewide.
Beyond that, we equip our members to build better. Through the technical arm of our association, we provide training that helps our members stay current on asphalt technology and construction practices. We also host events that bring the industry together — opportunities to learn, connect, and build relationships with others in the field. And through our scholarship fundraising efforts, we invest in the next generation of the industry.
