Pitch Requirements

Time Limit:

2 minutes for the pitch (Shark Tank–style)

2 minutes for judge Q&A
-

Content: Pitches must relate to the asphalt or pavement construction industry, including:

Innovative paving construction techniques
-
New mix designs or materials
-
Asphalt performance testing methods
-
Asphalt equipment concepts
-
Process improvements or creative solutions
-

Creativity Encouraged:
Ideas do not need to exist or be technically feasible today, think outside the box. -
Goal:
Convince the judges to “invest” in your idea.
Presentation Tips

Structure your pitch around:

Problem: What industry challenge are you trying to solve?

Idea: Your innovation or solution
-
Impact: Why it matters (efficiency, cost, sustainability, safety, etc.)

Call to Action: Why judges should invest in your idea

3–5 industry professionals from the state of Florida

Prizes
Students who successfully pitch and convince the judges to “invest” may be eligible for cash prizes:

1st Place: $300
-
2nd Place: $200
-
3rd Place: $100
