Asphalt Plant Tour

Join the Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida for a unique opportunity to tour the Anderson Columbia Company asphalt plant in Midway, Florida.

Students will get an up-close look at how an asphalt plant operates and see the equipment, materials, and processes involved in producing asphalt.

Plant Tour

The walking tour will include:

• Aggregate feed bins and stockpiles
• Burner and drum
• RAP intake
• Baghouse dust collector
• Asphalt storage silos
• Binder storage
• Plant control tower
• Asphalt plant laboratory and testing equipment

This is a unique opportunity for students to see an operating asphalt plant and connect classroom concepts to the equipment and processes used in asphalt production.

Tour Provided By

The tour is provided by the Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida and the staff at Anderson Columbia Company.

What to Bring

• Closed-toe shoes
• Long pants
• Safety vest, if you have one
• Hard hat, if you have one

Hard hats and safety vests will be provided if you do not have your own.

The tour will wrap up with a group photo of all participating students and tour hosts.
